What happened to ZebitThe store closed.
The name didn't.

Zebit Market — the buy-now-pay-later shop where you picked from a catalog and paid over six months — stopped serving customers in 2024. If you're here with an old login, a question about a balance, or just the name in a search box, this is the whole story, dated, plus what zebitusa.com is instead.

Zebit, Inc. — a timeline

Compiled from public filings, regulator records and the company's own statements. Dates and details as we could verify them at last review; corrections welcome at [email protected].

  1. Zebit, Inc. launches in San Diego

A closed online marketplace for people without good credit: electronics, furniture, appliances and more, bought with a "ZebitLine" of roughly $200–$2,500 and repaid over six months at 0% with a down payment. Approval leaned on income and bank data, not FICO — an idea that outlived the company.

  2. Lists on the Australian Securities Exchange

Zebit raised capital by listing on the ASX rather than a U.S. exchange, a route a number of U.S. fintechs took that year.

  3. Removed from the ASX

The shares were delisted on 22 April 2022 after the company's position deteriorated; shareholders were left with little recourse. Customer operations continued for a time.

  4. Stops serving customers

Through 2024 the marketplace stopped taking new orders and customers reported unanswered support channels. By our last review, account.zebit.com and [email protected] were no longer reliably monitored.

  5. California revokes its lending license

California's Department of Financial Protection and Innovation revoked the company's California Financing Law license (no. 10385-99) effective 6 May 2024 — formally ending its ability to lend to Californians.

  6. Reviews and ratings settle

Trustpilot shows roughly 3.5 stars across about 4,600 reviews, many from the company's active years; the Better Business Bureau rating stood at D- at our last check, reflecting unanswered complaints after closure.

  7. A different company picks up the name

zebitusa.com connects borrowers with licensed installment lenders ($200–$5,000) and pay-over-time providers. Not Zebit, Inc.; no access to its accounts; disclosed on every page. About us

Can I still log in to my Zebit account?

Not through us

Zebit Market accounts lived at account.zebit.com, run by Zebit, Inc. We have no access to those accounts, orders, balances or passwords. At our last review the portal was unreliable and the published support channels — [email protected] and 855-449-3248 — were not confirmed as monitored.

Zebit credit limit

What was the Zebit credit limit — and what's ours?

Then $200–$2,500 · Now up to $5,000

Zebit Market issued a "ZebitLine" starting around $200 and rising to about $2,500 for established customers, usable only in its own store, repaid over six months at 0% after a down payment.

zebitusa.com isn't a credit line. Lenders in our network offer installment loans of $200–$5,000 as cash to your account, and pay-over-time plans of $200–$2,500 at retailers you choose. Installment loans · BNPL

Does Zebit report to credit bureaus

Did Zebit report to the credit bureaus?

Partly, late in its life

For most of its history Zebit Market did not report payments to the major bureaus — one of the common complaints about it. The company said it began reporting for some customers in its later years. Old accounts are unlikely to be updated now; if one appears on your report with wrong information, dispute it with the bureau directly.

Zebit app

Is there a Zebit app?

No

Zebit Market was a website; it never had a widely distributed app, and zebitusa.com has no app in any store. Anything called "Zebit" in an app store is not us and is very likely a scam collecting fees or bank logins. Domains we've seen imitating the name include zebitapp.com, zebitbnpl.com and zebitpaylater.com.

If Zebit Market owes you

Four routes that don't depend on them answering

  1. Your card issuer or bankFor an undelivered order or an unauthorized charge, a chargeback through the card you paid with is the fastest route — even months later, ask.
  2. Your state attorney generalConsumer protection offices take complaints against closed companies and can tell you about any settlement or claims process.
  3. California DFPIIf you're in California, the regulator that revoked the license accepts complaints about licensees.
  4. Your credit reportsIf a Zebit account shows wrong information, dispute it with each bureau; furnishers that no longer respond are removed.

We can't act on your behalf with Zebit, Inc., but if you're unsure which route fits, write to [email protected] and we'll point you.

Did Zebit go out of business, or was it bought?
