About Zebit
What we are, what we aren't, and why the name sounds familiar.
Is Zebit a direct lender?
No. Zebit is a loan-connection service. We send your one request to lenders in our network; the lender that makes you an offer funds the loan, sets the APR and collects the payments. We never charge you to apply.
Is Zebit the same company as the old Zebit shopping site?
No. zebitusa.com is not affiliated with Zebit, Inc. of San Diego or its former Zebit Market buy-now-pay-later store, which stopped serving customers in 2024. What happened to Zebit
Is Zebit legit?
Yes — a loan-connection service paid by lenders, never by you, with full disclosures in every footer. We've written a whole page on how to verify us and any loan site: Is Zebit legit?
How does Zebit make money?
Lenders in our network pay us when a borrower we refer takes a loan. That fee never changes the APR or terms you're offered, and you pay us nothing.
Which lenders are in the network?
State-licensed installment lenders and pay-over-time providers. Your loan agreement names the specific lender, and you can look them up with your state regulator or NMLS Consumer Access before signing.
I had a Zebit Market account. Can you help?
We can't access Zebit, Inc.'s systems, but we've collected what we know about reaching them on our customer service page.
Applying
The three-minute request, and what happens right after.
How do I apply?
Choose an amount from $200 to $5,000 and answer a few questions about your income and checking account. It takes about three minutes; most people upload nothing. How it works
How much can I borrow?
Requests run from $200 to $5,000. The amount a lender offers depends on your income, bank history and your state's limits — many first-time borrowers are offered $500 to $2,000 and more after on-time payments.
Do I need to upload documents?
Usually not. A lender may ask to verify income or identity — typically a secure read-only bank connection or a photo of your ID — before finalizing. Self-employed borrowers are the most likely to be asked for a recent statement.
Can I apply on my phone?
Yes. The request, the offers and the e-signature all work on a phone. There is no app to download.
Can I get more than one offer?
Often. When more than one lender can serve you, offers appear side by side with the same four numbers — APR, term, monthly payment, total of payments — so you can compare fairly.
What if I'm not approved?
You'll be told, with the reason where the lender provides one. Nothing appears on your credit report. You can usually re-apply after 30 days, and our alternatives page lists lower-cost options in the meantime.
Credit & eligibility
Scores, soft pulls and who qualifies.
Will checking my rate affect my credit score?
No. Offers use a soft inquiry that isn't visible to other lenders and doesn't change your score. A hard inquiry can happen only after you accept a specific offer. Soft vs. hard checks
Can I get a loan with bad credit?
Yes. There's no minimum credit score to apply. Lenders weigh steady income and an active checking account more than a FICO number, so fair, poor and thin files are considered — at a higher APR than prime borrowers see. Bad credit loans
What are the requirements?
18 or older and a U.S. resident with a valid ID and SSN, regular income, an active checking account in your name, a phone and email, and a state we serve. Full requirements
Does income from benefits or self-employment count?
Yes. Lenders look for regular, recurring deposits — wages, self-employment, Social Security, disability, pension, military and benefits income all qualify.
Will the loan build my credit?
With a lender that reports to a credit bureau, on-time payments can help your file; your agreement says whether the lender reports. Missed payments can be reported too.
Can I apply with a co-signer, or for someone else?
No co-signer is needed or accepted — the loan is in your name only. You can't apply on behalf of another person.
Rates & fees
APR, the federal box, and which fees are zero.
What does a Zebit loan cost?
Every loan has a fixed APR and payment disclosed before you sign. Representative example: $2,500 for 12 months at 35.99% APR = 12 payments of $251.17, $3,014 total. APRs vary by lender, state and credit profile. Rates & fees
What APR will I get?
APRs in our network start at 5.99% for the strongest profiles; smaller amounts, shorter terms and thinner credit files carry higher rates, and some lenders exceed our representative 35.99%. Your exact APR is printed on the offer.
Is there a fee to apply?
No. Applying, seeing offers and declining them are all free. Anyone asking for a fee to apply or release funds is a scammer. Scam alerts
Is there a prepayment penalty?
No. Installment lenders in our network don't charge one, and paying early reduces the total interest because interest accrues on the remaining balance.
What's the difference between APR and interest rate?
The interest rate is the cost of the principal; APR adds required fees and expresses the whole cost as a yearly rate. Compare offers by APR and by total of payments. Loan guides
What fees can a lender charge?
Possibly an origination fee (most lenders in our network charge none; where it exists it's inside the APR), a late fee and a returned-payment fee — each capped by state law and printed in your agreement.
Funding & payments
When the money lands and how it goes back.
How fast will I get the money?
Sign before the lender's cutoff — usually mid-afternoon Central — and funds typically reach your checking account the next business day. Friday evening and weekend signings usually fund Monday or Tuesday.
How do I make payments?
Payments are drafted automatically from the checking account you provided, on the dates in your agreement. Most lenders also let you pay manually through their portal.
Can I pay my loan off early?
Yes, any time, with no penalty. Make the extra payment through the lender's portal and ask that it be applied to principal.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Contact the lender before the due date — most will move a date or set up a plan. A missed payment may carry a late fee under state law and, with a reporting lender, can appear on your credit report after 30 days.
Can I change my payment date?
Usually, by asking the lender before the draft. Lining your payment date up with payday is the simplest way to avoid a returned payment.
Can I cancel after I sign?
Check your agreement for a rescission window — many lenders let you return the funds within a few days at no cost. After that, pay off early at any time without penalty.
Loan types
Installment, Buy Now Pay Later, Pay in 4 and lease-to-own.
Installment loan vs. Buy Now, Pay Later — what's the difference?
An installment loan puts cash in your account, repaid in fixed monthly payments over 3–24 months. Buy Now, Pay Later finances one purchase at checkout, usually over about 6 months. Loan for bills; BNPL for an item.
What is Pay in 4?
A short plan that splits a purchase of roughly $50–$1,000 into four payments over six weeks, typically with no interest if paid on time. Pay in 4
What is lease-to-own?
You lease an item and own it after 12 months of payments or an early buyout. It needs no credit, but the total cost is usually well above the sticker price — we explain when it makes sense. Lease-to-own
Can I use a loan for an emergency, like a car repair?
Yes — that's the most common use. We have guides for car repair, medical bills, rent and utilities and more under emergency loans.
States
Where offers are available and why they differ.
What states does Zebit serve?
Lenders in our network serve most U.S. states, but not all. Pick yours on the states page to see what's available where you live.
Why are amounts and rates different in my state?
Each state sets its own caps on APR, fees and minimum terms for small-dollar loans. Lenders follow the law where you live, which is why an offer in Texas can differ from one in Ohio.
Safety & privacy
